3 Outdoors

The Trebbio Castle, already owned by the Medici family since 1309, preserves intact the genius of the Florentine architect Michelozzo Michelozzi.

Trebbio became a castle around 1364, when a fortified wall was built, crowned by an external walkway that connected the tower with two adjacent buildings. It was then, according to the chronicles, Michelozzo during the early fifteenth century, for Giovanni di Bicci dei Medici and his son Cosimo, to realize the wonderful unicum, the villa-castle which today we admire accompanied by the loggia and the beautiful pergola garden.

In the mid-fifteenth century, the Trebbio was destined to Cosimo’s nephew, Pier Francesco, and in the summer of 1476 Amerigo Vespucci briefly stayed there. At the end of the century, Botticelli worked there.

Between art, history and nature, take advantage of this visit to experience an excursion inside a castle to discover all its secrets.
