1 Food and Wine

This area is a symbol of the production of good wine and quality cuisine in Tuscany. Traditional stone cellars, secluded farmhouses, and producers of all kinds enrich the journey from Florence to Siena.

In the middle of this historic street stands the majestic Antinori Cellars, one of the six structures built by the marquises in the region.

For the first time in 26 generations, the Antinori family inaugurates a winery designed to welcome wine lovers, designed to come into direct contact with its production philosophy, made of passion, patience, and continuous research for quality.

The winery overlooks the countryside through a terrace surrounded by vineyards cultivated with the typical variety of Chianti Classico, Sangiovese, along with others that historically are flanked: Canaiolo, Ciliegiolo, Colorino, Malvasia Nera, Mammolo. A small part is also dedicated to international vines, like the Cabernet Sauvignon.

Book an immersion in the production philosophy of Marchesi Antinori.

2 Art and Culture

Contemporary art that reinterprets and affects the cultural landscape and offers new visions and perspectives on reality, takes root in the Florentine Chianti. The art of the present establishes unprecedented points of contact, and intellectual and sensory links, with the monuments, buildings, and public spaces of the municipalities of San Casciano, Barberino Tavarnelle, and Greve in Chianti.

It is the most famous hilly territory in the world, a land of wine, and oil, inhabited over the centuries by intellectuals, writers, artists, and navigators, to welcome creativity and open the doors to contemporary art in an unprecedented dialogue with those who live it, He lives, he visits.

From June 5 to September 30, the Chiantissimo contemporary art container returns in a richer edition, extended, moving.

A contemporary art project that this year from San Casciano, the common leader, extends its gaze on the Chianti towns of Greve in Chianti and Barberino Tavarnelle.

Chiantissimo, a place, and cultural space to live and share concerning the environment, the history, and the identity roots of one of the most valuable areas on a global scale, is a journey divided into three stages.

3 Outdoors

In Località Granaio, near the Romanesque church of Sant'Agnese you will find The Senese Nature Reserve; The Bosco di Sant'Agnese protects an extensive cypress grove, located between the hills of Chianti Senese, halfway between Castellina in Chianti and Poggibonsi. This cypress forest was created to preserve a particular type of cypress (Cupressus sempervirens).

Among the cypresses often appear wild fruits, and many species typical of the Mediterranean, mammals such as the porcupine, the marten, and the weasel.

It is worth participating in a guided excursion to the cypress in the company of authorized environmental guides, if you are interested, contact the Species Association for information on events and guided tours.
