The surroundings of Santa Croce offer a very rare glimpse of ancient Florence, with its lively markets, its leather shops, artisan shops and the famous Flea Market in Piazza de' Ciompi.
The S. Ambrogio Market is the second most important market, second only to that of San Lorenzo, and it is also very close.
It's a prime location for sightseeing and entertaining, the area is vibrant but very safe and has plenty of shops, restaurants and theatres all very close. The famous best restaurant in town "Enoteca Pinchiorri" is just two blocks far.
In addition, this neighborhood is very close to many points of interest such as the Museum of Decorative Arts of the Bargello, the Casa Buonarroti (ancient home of the great sculptor Michelangelo), Piazza della Signoria, Palazzo Vecchio and Ponte Vecchio, without forgetting the church of Santa Croce and its museum.

The historic center of Florence is a limited traffic area and therefore there are special rules to access or park in this area. The apartment is located within the ZTL area. If you want to use your car to drive around the city, we advise you to pay particular attention to road signs in order to avoid unpleasant fines and to contact private garages in the center (that is, the one closest to your home) in order to obtain a temporary access permit.
As soon as you arrive at the garage, if you specify that you need access for the ZTL, the garage will communicate the license plate of your car to the police to avoid the fines on that stretch.

Local Transport
The flat is a 20-minute walk from the Santa Maria Novella railway station or 15 minutes by bus taking C1, C2. C3 or C4. On the other hand, it is 10 km from the airport but is easily connected both by tramway and by the many buses that stop right outside the apartment. Given its location in the centre and therefore within the restricted traffic zone, public transport or the various 'Sharing' services of bicycles and scooters are recommended.

The two bedrooms are very bright with views over the red Florentine rooftops and the Tuscan hills.
A wooden staircase leads to the upper level where there is a unique living room, a dining area and a fully functional kitchen.
Nine incredible windows, spread all around the room, illuminate and offer a breath-taking view of Florence: Palazzo Vecchio, Santa Croce and the Duomo.
On the sides of the room there are two wonderful panoramic terraces, furnished for unforgettable outdoors meals, that fill the room with lights.

We were 2 couples on a city trip in Florence. Charming Altana met totally our expectations:
perfect location, fantastic views from both terraces, very nice living and kitchen facility, comfortable beds, good shower.
